Every writer needs to be reminded of these points!

Go find your small win: I have 10 five-star ratings on my Google listing for my business and I received a lead by phone for an editing project yesterday. That feels great!

Write a single paragraph that makes you proud:

A stone in my boot is the metaphor for my life. How does it feel to walk with a stone in your boot? Slowly. Awkwardly. Painfully. Putting one foot in front of the other. Searching for that spot where you can take your boot off, shake out the stone, put the boot back on, and keep walking. However, there’s another stone in your boot before you know it. And you can do nothing about those stones, except learn how to live with them—without anger. Those stones remind you that you’re alive and experiencing a human existence. It’s over when you can no longer feel the stones in your boots.

Finish that short story: I don’t write short stories often, but you remind me that I could share a couple of them here. 😊 I’m gonna start sharing some of my poetry as well.

Post that art piece: I don’t know if you can call this art, but I suppose some people would. See my post called The Sickest Thing: My Evening with the Jim Rose Circus Sideshow. 😉

Leave a review for someone whose work you admire: I do this all the time. This week, I wrote a five-star book review for The Last Witch by C. J. Cooke, which I posted on my Notes.

WooHOO! Now THOSE are some wins.

I will cheat if I have to.

Example: If it's a REALLY bad day, then I'll sit down, pour a cold drink and then make a list of every single thing I did today...especially those things I didn't want to, BUT did them ANYway.

.....then I check them off, slowly, one by one.

"Dang, I'm good. Time to rest..."

Then I get up and attack the day when it comes.

Psst....Christine....here's a little, itsy-bitsy tip:

[Look for places with 'smaller' rocks....OR preferably "sand" instead...]

Just sayin.

Thank you, my friend. I’m a list maker, too, and I make a daily to-do list it in my head every morning. I tell myself that I want to accomplish those things as a bare minimum, and if I achieve anything else above and beyond, that’s a good day! Whenever I have a day with minimal pain, I get a lot more accomplished.

I live where I live because my family are all here, and I’m too broke to move. So, I have to put up with the real stones and the metaphorical stones in my boots. There have been many times when I wish that I’d been born in Hawaii or the South of France, though!

Hehe...then I have a SECOND tip:

Wear flip flops.

...when WE adjust, and 'pivot', oftentimes we can avoid the stones altogether.

But I know for a fact that you know this...being in the promo business for so many years (grin).

Love you, my friend!

Thank you for commenting. Makes my heart glad.

Tick off the "Make Jaime smile" box on your list.

[If it wasn't there, write it down. THEN tick it off....]

I have pivoted my way into my third career at the ripe age of 61! But I refuse to wear flip flops (fashion faux pas, y’know?). Making Jaime smile is a great thing to tick off the list!

Hehehe....I can support that.

Used to wear flip flops all the time...then, getting older, I tend to trip over my own TOES!

(soooo embarrassing)

I would trip over my own toes if I wore flip flops, too! Don’t be embarrassed.
