Wonderful, wonderful!!! I'm a believer, and all three of you keep feeding my knowledge. I'm soaking it up. I've started my Shopify store and I'm blogging again. With today's talk, you showed me the right kind of blogging I should be doing--that lets readers know me better. High-five & thank you! I'll be working on a next-level book edition next. Fingers crossed!

I found your walk-thru after I started, so I'm struggling a bit and relying on Youtube to educate me. But it's going, and I'll probably change out a few things to what you suggest, but making changes seems hard, so baby steps. I haven't made my first sale yet, but I'm working on the GEO & AEO, so once that's really cooking, I'll hope that changes. However, I'm not promoting the store anywhere, in the more common ways, because I want to see it work in the new ways. I also need to add more content to sell. I only have two ebooks available. So, lots of building. But it feels really good, as you know, to take control! I appreciate you being a beacon of light--even if that's not your comfort zone--you are making a difference to me. I've been looking for an answer on how to sell my writing for a very long time. This is the first thing that makes sense. I can do this. :)

There’s some great YouTube videos on setup now even with the different themes. Let me know if you need a sounding board. I’m good for those kinda things. Yes you’re setting up your SEO and GEO and AEO right now. Make sure to use strong SEO keywords with traffic. I like UberSuggest but there are others like SEMRush(much more costly but really good).

The first step is always a challenge but it’s worth it! πŸ’₯

Thank you, Alicia! I will reach out. Maybe even twist your arm to look at it? But not until I reach the point where I've done all I could. It's like letting a reader read a first draft. Friends don't let friends read first drafts! HA. I know plenty that needs fixing now. I would certainly love your insight once I get past the easy stuff. Yikes. Easy is not the right word. But it is worth it. :)

Awesome!

BTW -- I'm also looking into the blogging aspect....not to replace LoF here on Substack, but to create flags over on my Payhip, which apparently has a blog feature as well...

So we will see how this can be combined to wave a flag at the Librarian and get interest in the products there.

Glad to hear you are blogging, too. We'll have to do an episode on returning to blogging next year. After we have some results to share.

I've been thinking about that -- and isn't writing ANYthing, technically "blogging"?

Substack is doing the same thing, as long as it's not the serial, right?

Lore would still be blogging....

That's my guess.

Well, yes, given the way you post. LOL. But it's different for me. I do Notes a lot but that's not blogging. And serializing fiction isn't blogging. I have two old-school blogs out there, that must still send out alert messages, if I were to post. They are Wordpress based. I'll fire them up and see if either sends anyone over to my Shopify store.

Yes Lore is blogging. For you to make it fun and towards that homeschool audience or education group, you need something like one of these for just one or two types:

*Gnome Lessons

*Gnome Field Guides

*Creature of the Week

*

Worldbuilding Storytime

Behind the Quill

Map Magic Mondays

I think back links are a real thing too so having different blog posts in different locations can actually help.

I think πŸ€” probably there’s a 2nd workbook about the discovery posts. I have some really fun ideas and AEO keyword searching.

But Jaime for you, let’s change it up and say we’re going on a quest to the magical library to find the travelers to your realm and your magical shelf portals… πŸ§šπŸΎβ€β™€οΈ

Oooh, I do have other blogs out there. Dormant. Full of SEO cobwebs. I'll crank them up, as I'm sure the start date means something to the algorithm. Not that it won't know they are all me. Right?

Hmm πŸ€” you could update them or re-pin them. Just add newer discussions and terms. Note to myself to add this to workbook 2.

...and I'm hoping to get the attention of parents, teachers AND librarians!

Oh, goodness, I had an adventure last night with my darling wife....using chatGPT for the very first time.

We used it for shopping!!!

Okay, so I asked it, "From what you know about me, and how I feel about my family and values, tell me about such-and-such books." Then I went through a list, for each of my kids, and I got THE BEST breakdown, reviews, and solid recommendations and why it fit my literal parenting style and beliefs!!

My wife sat there as I read it aloud, and she was baffled at how accurate this was!

...then I asked for a set of books that would fit one of my tender hearted kids, because we didn't have any ideas...and I got back a huge, detailed list, and all the why's/why not's....

THEN I asked about my first book, CHOICES...and if it would be appropriate for that tender hearted child.

Got a complete analysis....

Wow.

THAT was fun. =)

Guess what I AM using when shopping now?!!
