The most common question I’ve been asked of late, besides “When is the first Wanted Hero novel going to be published”, is “Do you build web sites?”
Absolutely, positively, …sort of.
Yeah, there are a good number of websites out there which I built or helped build. I lost count in 2008 though, after maintaining 40+ separate sites with my partner in crime, Micah Bonnell. Some are still around, some have gone the way of the grave—and many clients kept them up until they crashed with the economy. I still write and populate Wanted Hero and a few others, mostly family sites and info sites like The Backyard Harvest Project. I do, however, create a semi-steady flow of small web sites for clients who need quick solutions, today. Though I would not say these are “traditional” sites.
I like to call them ‘blog-hybrids’. I don’t know if that’s a good name, but it does describe what they are. Here’s what I tell a prospective client:
“My job Mr. Client, is to take your content (written, audio, downloads, pictures), set up a system that you can run, change, improve and grown in house without my help. My job is to empower you by giving you a clean, powerful, social media friendly site that can be a stand alone or a blog or both, so you can attract attention to your business and make a profit…then walk away. I will do that for you within specific parameters, do it within 72 hours…and I will do it for under $2500.”
It’s a decent pitch, but here’s the long of it: I’m not a programmer. So what I do has its limitations in the design area (I use premium templates as a foundation), though there are dozens of looks to choose from. I don’t do gateways or e-commerce systems that take custom programing. In stead, I work with modified versions of WordPress, hook it up to powerful social media tools. In essence, I set up the foundation, set up the media and show you how to get people to your site. Then I give you the keys, you give me my money and I walk away with both of us smiling. This includes owning your name and a server with a plethora of features for one year.
Yes, I was serious about the time frame and the amount…but the price and time frame does increase with the size of your site. However, it’s all negotiable and in the end–you hold all the keys, power, copyrights and more.
Here are a few of my projects (all done under $2500 and under 72 hours to being 100% live):
www.tbyhp.com
www.wantedhero.com
www.roger-anthony.com
www.cashcowconnect.com
This one was a tad longer in creation, as I had to wait on the client to provide the content they desired to have displayed:
www.mythompsondental.com
If you need a good, powerful site done by say…Tuesday, you have all the content you want listed…and have a limited budget, I suggest you contact me. I’ll give you a free bid ($2500 covers 98% of my clients). Shoot me an email and I’ll be happy to solve your web site problems in record time.
