Just to show the power of promotion works, on April 8th, I was served legal papers.
That’s right, the last company I worked with is suing me to prevent me from becoming competition.
Now why is that? Because I worked promoting my own business for years, offering an exclusive product and when I decided to leave and use a different product, people questioned “why?”
I was trusted and known to shoot from the hip–say what I meant and to mean what I said–and clients / agents had gotten to know me through my promotional efforts (newsletters, articles, podcasts).
I told the truth, even when it hurt. No prompts, no hijack attempts—people simply wanted to know what my reasons were for leaving.
Isn’t that they type of influence you would like with your own business?
Isn’t that the type of relationship you would like to have with your customer base?
Then make sure you take the time, learn the skills and promote your business!!
